Project Quality Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Quality Manager to join our team at the Capenhurst site. In this role, you will ensure the highest standards of quality across our projects, leading a team of quality professionals while overseeing daily operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Team Coordination & Support
    • Report directly to the Team Lead Project Quality Manager, providing regular updates on team performance and project status.
    • Oversee and coordinate the activities of Quality Engineers and Quality Control Inspectors, offering guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Quality Oversight & Project Support
    • Support Urenco projects on all quality matters, ensuring all project quality documentation is accurate and properly managed.
    • Lead Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) efforts on assigned projects.
  • Collaboration & Compliance
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, promoting a collaborative, positive, and innovative team environment.
    • Ensure all project quality activities align with project specifications, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
    • Foster a "Right First Time" culture throughout the project to improve quality and safety awareness.
    • Undertake corrective actions to maintain or improve compliance with best practices.
  • Supplier & Contractor Relations
    • Review and advise on supplier and contractor documentation as required to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to nuclear industry regulations, standards, and best practices, coaching departments where necessary on proper application.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting
    • Implement quality metrics and performance indicators to monitor project progress and success.
  • License Condition Compliance
    • Participate in license condition compliance audits, as applicable.

What You’ll Need to Thrive in This Role

To succeed in this role, you will need the following experience and skills:

  • Extensive Project Quality Management Experience
    • Minimum of five years of experience in Project Quality Management, ideally within the nuclear industry.
  • Leadership in Major Projects
    • Experience leading quality in major nuclear projects, including new builds and decommissioning.
  • Team Management
    • Proven experience in coordinating a team of Quality Engineers and QC Inspectors.
  • Quality Plans & Certification
    • Experienced in developing and implementing Quality and Inspection Plans and navigating certification processes.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
    • Proactive and able to think ahead, anticipate challenges, and make decisions effectively.
  • Data Interpretation & Insight
    • Ability to go beyond raw data, leveraging experience and knowledge to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Self-Motivation & Drive
    • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to manage and complete assignments independently.
  • Willingness to Travel
    • Ability to travel as required for project needs.
